This is the Whole of England + Wales ( excluding Isle of Man ) ( 99% Coverage ) Orthophotos terrain textures.

This is for use with FlightGear 2020.4 or above which has photo scenery support. It will not work on any previous versions.

All files are in .DDS format.

CAUTION *** 13gb HD space required !! ***

How to install:-

Method 1:-

Unzip the archive and set the "England" folder as a custom scenery folder.

Menthod2:-

Unzip the archive and from within it, copy the "Orthophotos" folder to your main Terrasync folder.

Once you do ether of the above, you need to enable the Photo Scenery tick box in sim under the VIEW- RENDERING OPTIONS menu.

I have been using Duxford, London City Airport, Shoreham, and Gatwick to finish the Biplanes and shot some absolutely spectacular screenshots using the England and Wales 4K Orthophotos.

Splendid work, Stuart. Thank You very much!

From the hangar zip download, I get erros when unzipping (tried a few ways):
$ sudo unzip England.zip
[sudo] password for scott:
Archive:  England.zip
warning [England.zip]: 1774699037 extra bytes at beginning or within zipfile
  (attempting to process anyway)
error [England.zip]:  start of central directory not found;
  zipfile corrupt.
  (please check that you have transferred or created the zipfile in the
  appropriate BINARY mode and that you have compiled UnZip properly)

Maybe it's corrupt? Tried downloading a couple of times..

Cheers, Scott.

I got the same with my Mac. But then I just found another
piece of software to open it with. So there's something odd
about it for sure but it's possible to open it.

And this being an M1 I used an iOS app called Zip & Unzip.
That did the trick...

I couldn't unzip on linux either. I have a dual boot system, and unzipped fine on Windows 10. I have noticed this before with other large zip files.
