Fly for fun
FGUK came about from conversations on the main Flight Gear forums back in 2010. A few of us were UK based or interested in classic British aviation and fancied a bit of a more casual place to talk and arrange group flights away from the main forums.
From that we’ve been through several different websites, hosting formats and settings but have always kept a way of talking, we now have hundreds of members from around the world all who like getting involved in general chat, multiplayer flights and a bit of development.
We made our flight nights (still running all these years later) and decided we wanted to fly some different and possibly more detailed aircraft.
Although in the group some of us had programming backgrounds none of us really knew what to do with Flight Gear. Since then we’ve bodged, fettled and learned some skills that have helped us make some pretty passable, enjoyable and in some cases incredibly realistic simulations that we like to share with the world
