FlightNight January 15, 2022: Oil Executives Air Tour

12

This FlightNight our intrepid FGUK'ers will be touring the Northern Isles of the UK, having been chartered for an Air Tour by a thicket of Oil Executives!  We'll be starting off at Unst (EGPW), then working our way South with perhaps a wee swing easterly or westerly from time to time.  We'll be finishing on the mainland at Wick (EGPC), with an option to overfly and visit an oil rig or 3 before landing and warming ourselves up with a well earned dram!

When: 8pm UK time.

Comms: Teamspeak, as usual.

Weather: TBD (this week I've not been able to get any METAR data at all).

Hello everybody at FGUK

I downloaded S76 and I have 2 problems using it:

  • First the groundspeed is not displayed on the generic HUD. I have permanent 0 kts value.
  • Secondly when loading the provided route manager, waypoint headings are not regisitered within autopilot/settings

Are others having the same issues and wjhat are the eremdies.

Thanks in advance for your support

Best regards

Looking into it..................

Ok, the AP  issue.

In the set file line 30.  Replace  the Instrumentation section with this:-

<instrumentation>
<path>Aircraft/Sikorsky-76C/Systems/instrumentation.xml</path>
</instrumentation>

As for the Hud, the S76 doesnt  have one.......................

Confused.  DL'd the latest version in the public hangar, and there's a HUD in the cockpit view....  Unless I've grabbed it before you've UL'd changes?

G

Thanks Stu

I made the file correction and the AP works well now. As a conseqence the GS is also correctly displayed within HUD.

The Real S76 doesnt have a hud, so I wasnt bothered about the Hud not working properly.

Hi Stu

Another issue with S76: I tried to start position it at the first oil rig heli platform  location lon -3.020577963 lat 58.14884314 alt 218. It exploses as controls/gear/gear-down is false. Positionning is fine with fix gear helis as Ec145 EC665,s58 and even with retractable gear Ch53

Could you also solve this issue?

Thanks again in advance
